Third-Party Notices

The third-party software and assets distributed inside GS_Play modules, and the licences they are provided under.

GS_Play modules include third-party software and assets. This page lists what is distributed inside the gems, and under which terms.

It covers what ships in the modules. The engine itself is separate — O3DE is Apache 2.0 and governed by its own licence terms.

GS_Audio

Free tier.

ComponentRoleLicence
Steam AudioHRTF binaural spatialization and distance attenuation. The runtime library is vendored with the gem and loaded at runtime.Apache 2.0
SoLoudThe lineage of the gem’s DSP layer. The effect and source node implementations derive from SoLoud, and its generators feed the effect nodes.zlib/libpng
sfxrThe procedural sound-effect model behind .sfxrprofile assets. The parameter model follows the original DrPetter sfxr design.MIT

The DSP nodes in this gem were extracted into the framework’s own header-only layer so they can be wired directly into the audio graph. They remain derivative of SoLoud and are sourced from it, so the attribution belongs here in the free tier rather than only alongside the voice system that uses SoLoud more directly.

miniaudio reaches GS_Audio through O3DE’s MiniAudio gem rather than being vendored here.

GS_AudioPro

Premium tier.

ComponentRoleLicence
SoLoudThe speech synthesis engine behind Klatt voice.zlib/libpng
Steam AudioGeometric acoustics — scene and simulator, occlusion and reflections. Uses the context shared by GS_Audio.Apache 2.0

GS_Core

Free tier.

Fonts

Accessibility typefaces ship with the gem for use through the accessibility settings category.

AssetLicence
Atkinson HyperlegibleSIL Open Font License 1.1
OpenDyslexicSIL Open Font License 1.1

Both are redistributed under the OFL, which permits bundling and use in a shipped product. The full licence text accompanies the fonts inside the gem.

Your Obligations

Shipping a game built with GS_Play means redistributing these components, so their notices travel with your build. Practically:

  • Keep the licence files that ship inside the gems. They are placed alongside the assets and libraries they cover.
  • Reproduce the attributions in your game’s credits or legal screen. This page is a reasonable source to copy from.
  • The permissive licences here — Apache 2.0, MIT, zlib and the OFL — all allow commercial use and redistribution. None of them require you to open your own source.

If your project strips a subsystem it does not use, the corresponding notice can go with it.
